On May 26, 2010 winds in excess of 100 mph slammed into Westlake High School in Calcasieu Parish, LA. The winds tore part of the standing seam metal roof from the high school gymnasium and destroyed the press box at the football stadium.
Despite the carnage, the 100’ long Aegis Ultra-Span steel trusses spanning the gymnasium stood strong, with only very minimal damage. The trusses were fabricated by Sentry Building Components, Jennings, LA.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
