Aegis Metal Framing Continues to Promote its Fabricators in the CFST Industry
Tom Valvo
I just returned from spending a few days at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC) in San Francisco. Aegis Metal Framing exhibited at the show, in conjunction with our sister companies, Hardy Frames, Side-Plate, and Zone 4. Traffic was steady if unspectacular, but the interest in cold formed trusses is certainly growing. Also, our fabricator partner Universal Truss had a booth, promoting their steel and wood truss offerings. Nice job guys!
What struck me about PCBC, as well as the National Structures Conference in May and the AIA show in June (which ran concurrent with PCBC, but on the other coast in Miami, FL), was the absence of other cold formed steel truss suppliers. Actually, there weren’t even other cold formed framing (stud and track) producers at these shows either. The good news for Aegis and our fabricator partners is that we had the “stage to ourselves” to promote what we do together for the industry. We continue to invest heavily in marketing and education of the design community, even in these uncertain times. Hopefully, this will set the stage for all of us to flourish when the non-residential construction market finally rebounds.
Thank you to all our fabricator partners for what you do for us. Together, we will be stronger as we emerge from the current downtown.

well, that’s a good way to put it…
The whole world steps aside for the man who knows where he is going.
